Dear world,
I'm a Debian developer; therefore, I have a GPG key.
Just because I do, doesn't mean I want every random message to me to be encrypted.
Thank you for your attention.

It requires me to have my public key to read that mail. For security reasons, I don't store my public key on every machine I have an account on; certainly not on my laptop. So that means that when people send me an encrypted email, I need to jump through unnecessary hoops.
Also, decrypting an email takes some processing time, which makes the process of reading email slower. When you have hundreds of mails, this sucks.
That's not to say I don't want any encrypted emails. There are cases where encrypted email does make sense; for instance, when my business partner and I talk about financial issues, we usually encrypt our conversation; or when I send people passwords (or ask them to send me passwords), I make sure the emails are encrypted, too.
But encrypting an email 'just because you can', that makes no sense.
